Member Code of Conduct
As a Member of the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce, I/we recognize that membership is a privilege, and that membership brings with it the responsibility to assure that all members understand and commit to the following code of conduct:
The code of conduct shall, without limitation, require members and all participants of Chamber-sponsored programs to:
1. Refrain from publicly disparaging the business practices of fellow members and refrain from condoning or engaging in misrepresentation or unethical practices.
2. Conduct business and professional activities in a reputable manner to reflect honorably upon the business community and fellow Chamber members.
3. Respect the reputation, profile and status of the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce, and represent the Chamber accordingly.
4. Understand, support and promote the mission of the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce and co-operate with fellow members in the application of this Code of Conduct.
5. Whenever reasonably possible, participate in the functions and activities of the Chamber, and promote the enhancement of business growth within the greater Rowlett area.
6. Observe the highest standards of ethics in rendering services and/or offering products for sale, based on the members’ own knowledge and expertise.
7. Refrain from engaging in any practices prohibited by law or seeking unfair advantage over fellow members and conform to all laws established by Municipal, State and Federal governments for the control of said business, where applicable.
8. Present a true presentation in all advertising. Goods and services shall be advertised in accordance with all Municipal, State and Federal legislation.
9. Respect the role of the Chamber staff.
I/we also understand that the failure to adhere to the professional and personal obligations of the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce, as outlined above, can result in the termination of my/our membership.
Membership Policy
The Rowlett Chamber of Commerce (the ‘Chamber’) is a membership organization serving Rowlett, Texas, and the surrounding areas. The following reflects the Chamber’s Membership policies, which are subject to change with Board approval:

- The Chamber is a Texas nonprofit corporation, qualified under Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code. Active membership in this corporation shall be open to any person, association, partnership, corporation, Limited Liability Company or other entity having an interest in the mission and purposes of the Chamber. A prospective new member shall comply with those requirements for admission to membership, including the payment of dues, which may be established from time to time by the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

- Prospective members are required to pay Chamber membership dues in full at the time of application. Membership dues cover a membership year beginning at the time the member joins and ending after twelve months. Membership is renewable on the first day of the member’s anniversary month each year.
- Dues, which are subject to change in price and formula, are payable in advance and are continuous until canceled in writing in advance of the due date.
- Chamber membership dues may be deductible for Federal income tax purposes as an ordinary and necessary business expense (not as a charitable contribution). However, members should consult their own tax advisors for specific tax information and advice.

- Termination of Membership

- The Chamber reserves the right to deny membership, or cancel membership, in accordance with the organization’s bylaws which state the following: (a) The Board of Directors, by affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the Board of Directors present at the meeting, may suspend or expel a member for cause after an appropriate hearing. (b) Any member expelled or removed for cause, which shall include but is not limited to non-payment of annual membership renewal dues or monies owed the Chamber for sponsorship or other service or failure to uphold the purpose and Bylaws of the Chamber, may file a written appeal with the Board of Directors.

- Non-Payment of Dues
- Chamber members who do not pay membership dues within 90 days of the annual renewal date may be subject to having their membership canceled. In any such case, the Chamber will notify the member of the cancellation, and no further action shall be required.

- Proud Member Logo Use
- The Chamber licenses its membership logo for display only by Chamber members in good standing. Images may not be modified in any way. If the logo is used on a member’s website, it must be linked to the Chamber’s website at www.rowlettchamber.com. Any other use of the image requires prior written permission by the Chamber. Downloading and displaying a Chamber membership logo constitutes acceptance of these terms.

- Refund Policy
- Membership investments and processing fees (dues) are non-refundable.Attendance fees for chamber events are refundable with a minimum 48-hour cancellation notice. Otherwise, attendance costs are considered non-refundable. Exceptions to this policy will be made on a case-by-case basis and only considered due to unusual or unavoidable circumstances. Chamber staff may provide credit toward future events. Requests must be made in writing or by email.
