Committees

Charge:  To recruit new members into the Chamber while meeting the needs of current members to ensure the Chamber offers a solid return on Membership Investments. The Committee will focus on prospecting and outreach strategies for recruitment.  We will participate in the development of programs and services that will bring more choices and greater value to all of our members.

Charge: To promote and market Rowlett Area Chamber activities and encourage new membership while providing benefits to its current members.

This committee will develop a world-class talent development program that will ensure a top-notch workforce for years to come. Additionally, this committee will determine the needs of the business community and develop a workforce program to meet those needs.

Meeting Date/Time/Place: First Monday, 1:30pm, Rowlett Area Chamber

Charge: To identify and support legislative and regulatory issues, at all levels of government, that serve the interest of Chamber members and the business community. Will review specific business development issues and/or challenges that are brought to their attention and to advocate on behalf of business. Will promote and enhance a favorable business climate. This committee will support the City of Rowlett’s economic development efforts to attract, retain, and expand wealth and talent. Will share information on local economic development opportunities and challenges and ensure that the greater Rowlett area continues to develop as a leading place to live, raise a family, work, and operate a business. Will lead the effort in becoming the Convention & Visitor’s Bureau to attract business and tourism to Rowlett. Will focus on issues like infrastructure, workforce development, education, and quality of life.

Charge: To assist with the creation and coordination of special events including two annual banquets, a business expo, an annual golf tournament and two 5K races. Committee members work closely with chamber staff to provide networking opportunities, advertising, and educational events that meet the needs of our members and add value to their membership. Committee members also serve as, and help recruit, volunteers for the events.

Meeting Date/Time/Place: 3rd Wednesdays, 9:15 am, Rowlett Area Chamber

Charge: The goal of the Operations Committee is to assist with strategic planning to develop a long-range plan for the Rowlett Area Chamber and to help guide internal operations including technology, facilities, benchmarking and governance. This committee also helps to monitor revenue and expenses, provide financial updates and financial reports and work with staff to operate the chamber efficiently following an established budget. Members of the operations & finance committee typically include the chamber staff and the Treasurer although the committee always welcomes other interested Chamber members.
